Bed & Breakfast Near the Cathedral of Trani

In Trani there are many monuments, including the Cathedral which is about 10 minutes on foot from the B&B Travel & living, a pleasant walk and in front of it there is the courthouse and the Swabian Castle of Trani former prison.

The Cathedral of Trani (also known as the Cathedral of Trani and, sometimes, as the Cathedral of San Nicola Pellegrino) is the most prestigious building in the Apulian city. It is an example of Apulian Romanesque architecture. Its construction is linked to the events of S. Nicola Pellegrino, dating back to the era of Norman domination.

It was built using the stone of the city of Trani, a typical material of the area: it is a limestone tuff, extracted from the quarries of the city, characterized by a very light pink color, almost white.

The church stands out for its showy transept and for the use of the pointed arch in the passage located under the bell tower, a phenomenon not very common in Romanesque architecture.

Inserted in the list of "Italian wonders", the temple is the seat of the chair of the archbishop of Barletta Andria Trani.
